JAMII

 THE

Jamii Center Website Planning (3).png

Jamii—Swahili for community—was launched as a pilot initiative in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, a community long known for its cultural brilliance and resilient spirit. Powered by Black Alphabet, the Jamii Center was born out of a desire to explore how art and wellness can serve as powerful tools to gather, heal, and empower communities.

This space is more than a building—it is a living experiment in collective care and cultural expression. Created for the community and shaped by the community, Jamii Center exists to understand how neighborhoods cultivate belonging, safety, and solidarity through creativity and connection..

Jamii is not just a name. It is a promise.
